my dad offered to take me up to cora. we only stayed for no more than half an hour because it was getting late and we were getting eaten alive by mosquitos. i don't care if i go alone up there anymore. i need to go back up there. it's amazingly beautiful. i can't wait to spend a longer time up there to get better pictures ( Read more... )

this weekend was a good one. quick recap-

friday- i stayed in. the best part of my night was coming across that box of old letters that i find every now and again from 7th and 8th grade. notes like "sam- the boys are in trouble because someone said tim peed on the bathroom floor" from mandy humored me and made me feel a little nostalgic. i found this quote that kind of stuck to me in one of the letters,

"That which does not kill you only makes you stranger."

saturday- saw the non sequitor adventures of jack and dave at dougherty, went to joseph's pizza afterwards and ate some yucky onion rings

sunday- spent most of my day at john's, then went to a birthday dinner at ruhling's for my grandmom

sadly, i did not get to go to cora this weekend.  i need someone to go with me because i don't want to go alone. hopefully, i'll get up there this week

i'm done school on wednesday and we should party. you all know who you are.

what else? hm.. i won 2nd place for that photocontest thing. this week's theme is "sky," and next week's is "my transportation." i'll be brainstorming

well, i'm proud to say that i did get some studying done.

here's the vietnam pictures i mentioned earlier. these were in a deteriorating scrapbook i found in the deep dark depths of my upstairs closet. from looking at some of these pictures, i really wonder what i would do if i were one of these men, you know?

may 26th and 27th- the two weirdest days of my life by far. being that this is a public journal, i'll leave it at that. i think you get the idea.

anyway, the actual story behind the five hour train is this- me and annemarie were in anne stasson's back yard. we were jumping on her trampoline for a long time and annemarie got off of it and went inside while i layed there for a while. the sky was white static and it looked like little white gnats were falling all around me like snow. yeaaah. anyway, anne's backyard is behind a really busy street so it's really noisy. it sounded like one long, continuous train. then i had this weird dream, i was inside the train and i imagined all the passengers and had conversations with some of them, including a crazy old man with wiry blue hair and a gold pocket watch. eventually i snapped out of it came back in and annemarie said something like "man, you were sitting out there for like five hours." and so, the five hour train was born.

that night, i wrote a lot. i'd post  the most decipherable of scribbles i found on my floor the next day, but it's kind of embarassing. but that's what pictures are for, right? so, here's some pictures from the 26th-( Read more... )

these are also fairly old, but much newer than the previous post. one day i was picking flowers in my back yard and found my old samantha doll in a rose bush. at first i was sad with how beaten up it had become, then i saw it as a great photo prop. to this day i still haven't cleaned it. it now sits on my shelf with its painted red lips and a small golden chalice in its hand.
